CONTENT

In this series Tilburg based artist Jan Doms will take students to different places in the city to meet and engage with the local art scene and discuss current topics and trends in the arts. Jan Doms is an artist with a very diverse work field who is always looking for the spaces where disciplines meet and crossovers happen. Being able to engage first hand with these projects and artist will enable architecture and urbanism students to reflect on the notion of co-creation and the value of crossing disciplinary boundaries.

Jan Doms is founding partner of LEF Stadsdynamica, which stands for the principles of urban movements that form the theoretical framework on the basis of which knowledge and experience are employed. LEF essentially regards urban life as a system of intensive movements, in terms of constantly shifting relationships between the size and composition of the population, public and private domains, hardware and software, production and consumption, reality and virtuality, residence and mobility, culture and nature etc. In order to provide an unambiguous and all-encompassing representation of this complex of factors, LEF has introduced the term ‘stadsdynamica’, which translates as ‘urban dynamics’.
